Fourth version, shipped to London, 1849
Although completed in 1848, the fourth Greek Slave was not shipped to London until October 1849, because William Ward delayed the final payment. It is not known where the statue was initially placed; it possibly went to Dudley House, Ward’s residence on Park Lane.
