Throughout the 1850s, John Murray’s annual guide to principal attractions in London lists The Greek Slave at John Grant’s home at 7 Hyde Park Street. Newspaper notices indicate that Grant held ticketed musical performances at his house. This suggests that, in between public exhibitions, The Greek Slave was continuously on view to at least a limited public at Grant’s home.
