When Charles Fiske Bound died in 1924, The Greek Slave passed to his widow, Josephine Richards Bound (1886–1976), who in 1928 married the naval architect Alexander M. Orr (1876–1969). The statue passed to her son Charles F. Bound, Jr. (1909–85), who gifted it to the Brooklyn Museum in 1955, where it has remained since.
